Funding Priorities
The Charles E. Kubly Foundation seeks to better the lives of those affected by depression by increasing public awareness of the disease and its devastating effects, eliminating the stigma associated with it, supporting suicide prevention programs and promoting improved access to quality mental health resources within communities.
We welcome grant requests from not-for-profit organizations that:
- Provide services to either those afflicted by depression and depression-related diseases or their friends and family;
- Stage events or media campaigns to reduce depression-related stigma targeting either the general public or other more specific populations; or
- Provide educational workshops, seminars or other such events to service providers that interact with our population of concern (e.g. medical doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, police and fire people) to improve the knowledge and response of existing resources.
- Note that at this time we do not actively provide grants in support of research. However, if you or your organization is performing research to develop a project that we would fund (i.e. items 1-3 described above), then we will consider your request.
All grant requests should clearly indicate:
- Documentation confirming your legal status as a not-for-profit organization (e.g. Form 1099);
- A brief overview of your organization including its annual budget;
- The amount requested;
- The specific proposed use of the requested funds and the budget for the related project;
- List of individuals and their respective roles in your organization that will have project oversight and control over the requested funds;
- Timeline to completion including major milestones;
- Articulated goals with a plan to measure the success/failure of the project and willingness to share the results with us; and
- Contact information.
The Charles E. Kubly Foundation has a preference for grant requests that:
- Are projects with a beginning and end;
- Do not request money for personnel salary or overhead expenses; and
- Will not be a critical source of funds to support the ongoing fiscal health of the receiving organization.
